✨ I’m Officially in the Style Icon Competition! ✨

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been my own personal style icon — dressing boldly, embracing my body, and creating looks that celebrate confidence, color, and individuality. Fashion has always been my way of telling the world who I am without saying a word.

But today… I finally get to step into the spotlight for it.

I’m excited (and a little emotional!) to share that I’ve officially been selected as a contestant in the Style Icon competition — a national search for fashion lovers who inspire confidence and creativity through style. The winner receives a $20,000 prize and a feature at Milan Fashion Week 👀✨

If you’ve been following my journey, you know I don’t ask for much — maybe a like here, a comment there, or a share when something makes you smile. But this time, I’m asking for a little more.

Your vote could genuinely change my life.

Winning would not only open new doors for me as a fashion creator, but it would also help me continue empowering women to love their bodies and express themselves unapologetically — one outfit at a time.

You can vote for free once a day (yes, daily!) using the link below. Every single vote counts and brings me closer to this dream moment.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every like, comment, message, and now — vote. Let’s show them that confidence, creativity, and a little bit of Juicy flair deserve to be seen. 💋💅🏽

Neon R&B nights

Hey guys! It’s fashion Friday! Recently I went to a local concert that held some big names in R&B. The show was called One Jackson Music Festival. I figured it was the perfect opportunity to wear my neon dress 🤗. The show featured Dru Hill, Joe, and Monica. I had such an awesome time. I’ll post the videos I have on my Facebook page for y’all to see.
So let’s get into this look. I love dresses just like anyone else but a dress doesn’t leave much room for styling because it’s everything in one, the top , the bottom and in this case the peplum left no room for a belt and the heat didn’t leave room for a jacket. So why did I purchase a dress right? This color! There’s no better way to capture my personality than neon, it’s bright and bold just like me. Also, peplum has proven to be flattering on the Apple shape frame.
As stated earlier the dress is Forever 21 and can be found here. The dress is scuba material which I have a love hate relationship with. Its a thick firm material which is different that the more breathable fabrics I’m accustom to wearing . Nevertheless the material feels expensive and kept its form all night. After the concert I went to Johnny T’s, a local restraint and club, then I headed to 4th Lounge, which is also a restaurant and club. My dress turned heads all night and fir every occasion I wore it to.
I decided to pair the Yellow neon with am electric blue color and I loved the results. The bag is by nine west and its super old and the shoes are Ashley Stewart and also super old. I have an awesome style idea for this dress so trust this wont be the last time you see it.

Essence Fest 2019

Hey Y’all,
A couple weeks ago, I attended the 25th anniversary Essence Festival in New Orleans. Friday night we went to Bourbon street and The French Quarter. We made our way over to the House Of Blues for the Dusse Palooza. It was an epic party Hosted by DJ Millie MS NIX and Mike SW. Wale came and performed a few songs for us and Juvenile ended the show. The party was from 12am till 5am it was crazy.

I had my family with me so I had to find some family fun things to do. Saturday morning we went to a small town called LaPlace and went on a swamp tour from a company called Cajun Pride. We found a Groupon deal on it. TIP: whenever you are travel to another state check Groupon for things do at a discounted rate.

Leopard Print outfit is forever 21 and can be found here and here.
Its a linen material and it was super comfy and light.
After the swamp tour we went to change clothes shower and cool off before heading back out for an adventure at The Escape Game New Orleans.

There were several games to choose from but we choose the Heist. We had to find a stolen painting and it was hard y’all but we did it!!! We beat the game.  I wore my logo t shirt and a super cute patent leather skirt from Forever 21 its sold out but you can find a similar one here. My camo fanny pack is from Ashley Stewart and can be found here.

We ended our night at the Historic Gene’s Po Boy. We found out it was there last week open. So glad we got to eat there one last time.

Sunday I walked the city and stopped by a couple pop up shops the first one I went to was the Mielle Pop up shop. This is an awesome hair care line and all the products were FIVE DOLLARS! Which explains why I have a basket full of products in my pictures.

My Best Friend @THEEDJPM was the DJ for this pop up shop and he had it like a day party in there. I had so much fun.
Next Up, I went to the Izzy and Ivy pop up which was actually like several pop ups in one. They had other vendors there, live DJ , Henna Tattoo person, Crayon case, and a book signing all in one. I purchased some goodies that I will definitely blog about soon.

We ended out Essence Fest weekend with a trip down bourbon to enjoy some Red Beans and Rice and Beignets from the famous Cafe Beignet.

Until Next year Essence Fest.

So I grabbed a couple swimsuits to show y’all what an apple shaped body look like in these different cuts of bathing suites. Its finally summer be happy and buy the swimsuit.

This leopard print bikini is from boohoo. It doesn’t have a lot of support for the big boob girls but the bottom is good and sturdy. You can find it here. My sunglasses can be found on https://www.kenziesshades.com/shop.

This cute lil one piece is from forever 21 and it runs a lil big. Kandi's Dungeon and Houston TX

Hi guys it’s been a while. I took a couple weeks off to go on vacation and I have lots to tell you guys about from my trip to Houston Texas where I’ve visited Kandi‘s dungeon and several other places. Let’s get into the Houston trip. So my mom and I are big fans of Kandi and she went on tour with her infamous dungeon show we knew we had to go. I reached out to my group members from a facebook group Im in called black girls jeep to see who who would be in Houston that weekend and coincidentally a few group members were in another Jeep group from the Houston area and they were throwing a day party Saturday. So Saturday my mother and I went to an 80s themed day party hosted by Houston‘s jeep club.

This is literally the only 80s party I went to where they played 80s music the entire time. Shout out to the DJ.
My mom had an awesome time and I was glad because of course she grew up in the 80s so she enjoyed the music. Below is a picture of my outfit that I wore to the party in front of that awesome Jeep.

The shirt and bag is vintage and can be purchased on my websitewww.loveslostphoenix.storenvy.com Sunday I took my mom to brunch at this amazing restaurant that I found on eventbrite.

TIP: When ever you’re traveling to another city it’s important to find things to do in that city especially if you don’t know anyone that lives there so eventbrite is perfect for that. Of course I wore my Mimosa Therapy T-shirt because who goes to brunch that doesn’t have unlimited mimosas? I don’t. I paired it with this cute multicolored polkadot tulle skirt that I found at a local store called simply ten  by way of it’s fashion. So check your local it’s fashion stores if you’re interested in getting this item. This skirt is straight sized but my plus size 22 body fit in it just fine. My sunglasses are from https://www.kenziesshades.com TIP: Curvy ladies do not be afraid to shop in the straight size section, look for things with lots of stretch and things that are naturally oversized.

We had an amazing time at brunch we met the owner of the restaurant and the Southern cuisine was delicious.

Dungeon: The show is hosted downtown at a warehouse and the location was great. So the only problem I had with the show was that it was general admission standing only even for the people who have purchased a VIP like myself and my mother. The show started off kind of sultry with Kandi singing and speaking to the crowd then she brought on her first special guest @grapefruitlady1 who gave us some amazing tips on pleasing your man. Then BOLO @micaelbolwaire came out and gave some single ladies from the crowd some extra special attention. One thing I like about people is that once you put them in their element and they’re comfortable you can never predict what’s going to happen. Kandi was playing a game with the crowd it was her sex dice game so basically you roll the dice and you have to do whatever they say one couple had to like suck the others breast and they did that with no problem the next couple was supposed to lick on His partners clit and she got out of her jeans and panties so fast to perform on stage I could not believe it. This was not Kandi this was not any of her performers this was regular people who came to see the show. I looked down at my phone and then I looked up and I last saw was a butt naked woman on stage enjoying herself quite frankly. Deelishis was an excellent co host and she played plenty of games with the crowd. Singer Tamar, rapper Trina, and Shamari from the group Blaque all performed that night. Kandi playing with the crowd was the highlight of the evening. At the end of the show a cash prize for best dress was given out. Please remember though that my mother was my guest for the night so I was not going to do anything to disrespect her. I hope you guys enjoyed hearing about my trip to the dungeon.

At the end of our trip I discovered A Magical Unicorn dessert bar. Being the unicorn that I am I had to visit and dress in the theme of course.
I ordered The RedVelvet cake Milkshake and it was HUGE and so Delicious. It was a chocolate milkshake with Hershey’s kisses on the glass and a huge slice of Redvelvet cheesecake on top. It was kinda pricey for a milkshake but you could consider it two desserts. it was more thank enough for me and mom to share. They offered other desserts and specialty drinks. You can check the menu and a better pic of my milkshake below.

Remember Happiness looks good on you.
